About

Global Sporting World is an English-language publication about sport as a way of playing, gathering and belonging. We follow the details around the contest as well as the action itself.

A wider field of view

Our coverage moves among games, grounds, equipment, customs and spectatorship. One story may consider how a playing space shapes movement; another may trace a ritual that gives a contest its sense of occasion. We favour subjects that remain interesting beyond a single fixture or season.

For curious readers

The publication is for readers who enjoy sport, whether they follow a particular game closely or are finding their way into one. We explain terms where they matter and make room for differences between places and sporting traditions.

How we approach a subject

We aim for clear, measured writing that distinguishes a general pattern from a rule that belongs to a particular competition or place. We avoid presenting personal preference as a universal truth, and we do not offer professional medical, legal or investment advice.
