Write for us

Global Sporting World welcomes considered pitches about the games, places, equipment and customs that shape sport across the world. We are interested in clear ideas with a lasting use for readers.

What to propose

We welcome reported or carefully researched explanatory pieces, comparisons, histories and close readings of sporting customs. A strong proposal names the subject, the question it will answer, its likely structure and why the topic belongs here. Keep the focus specific, and tell us what readers will understand by the end.

A good fit

We look for original angles, clear writing and a respectful approach to the people and traditions involved. Avoid broad surveys without a guiding question, unsupported claims and material that depends on confidential information. State any relevant interests or relationships connected to the subject.

Send a proposal

Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief note about your approach. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise; a submission does not guarantee publication.
